Quick Answer: How Does Scoring Work?
Every take in Mimic Party is graded by the in-game AI on a scale out of 100, and the score lands right after your take plays, in front of everybody. The AI compares three things only — Melody, Rhythm and Attacks. Timbre (the tone color of your voice) is deliberately not scored, and the microphone you bought makes no difference. All of it runs 100% locally on your machine, not in the cloud, and there is no player voting.

The Three Dimensions the AI Judges
The official page names all three dimensions and pins down what two of them really mean. The short version: hit the shape of the melody, keep the timing, and fire as many distinct sounds as the reference does.

What the AI Ignores — On Purpose
The developer is blunt about this: the game does not care what your voice sounds like. "A deep voice and a high voice doing the same curve score the same", and it is "not the microphone you bought". Timbre is excluded so the game stays fair between a gravel-voiced baritone and a squeaky tenor, and hardware is excluded so a studio USB mic has no advantage over a laptop mic. This is a design choice, not a limitation.
Local, Instant, Public
Scoring happens entirely on your machine — "graded on your machine, not in the cloud" — and the score lands right after your take, in front of everybody. There is no player voting system at all; the AI is the only judge. (Players have asked for a human-voting mode in reviews, which confirms it does not exist yet.)
What We Do Not Know
How much each dimension weighs inside the final 0-100 score is not published. Melody could dominate Rhythm or they could be equal — no official source says, and we will not guess. Treat any percentage breakdowns you see elsewhere as invented.
Why Your Perfect Impression Scored 0 (and a Sneeze Scored 100)
The gap between the official model and how it feels at the table is the game's single biggest complaint: 23 of the 99 most recent reviews at launch mentioned scoring, and the top-rated one sums it up — "a friend can sneeze into the mic and get 100 points, while someone else gives the performance of their life and gets 0 points five times in a row". Whether that is a microphone-detection quirk or the model itself is not settled, and FoliesAPP has not shipped a fix or an explanation as of 2026-09-08. Our honest advice: treat the score as a party prompt, not a referee. The game's own slogan says the AI scores how close you got — your friends decide how much they laughed — and the sabotage wheel is designed to trash perfect takes anyway.
