๐Ÿ“ก Mimic Party Can't Join Friends - Connection Fixes

Cannot get into the lobby? The Mimic Party connection fixes that work: region switching, open parties and what to do when they still fail.

Quick Answer: Kicked, Disconnected or Stuck at "Server Full"?

Once you are inside a lobby, the launch-week failure modes change shape: kicks mid-game, full-game disconnects, lobbies that refuse a fifth player, and sessions that will not chain into a second game. All of it is community-documented โ€” every forum thread behind these reports has zero official replies โ€” and the common context is capacity: the European servers in particular have been overloaded at peak since launch day, which is also what breaks room codes (that side is covered in our join-code guide). The single workaround the community has confirmed is the same region switch: everyone in the party sets the same non-Europe region in settings and the host opens an open party. It does not work for everyone, and we will not pretend otherwise.

  • Context: launch-week server overload, Europe worst affected; player numbers grew far faster than the 30k-wishlist release plan anticipated.
  • The confirmed workaround: same non-Europe region for the whole party + open party (full walkthrough in our join-code guide).
  • Kicks and disconnects hit public random lobbies hardest โ€” a friends-only room code table is the stable configuration.
  • No official acknowledgment beyond a thank-you for "the patience with the bugs"; builds keep shipping silently.

The Symptom List, Exactly as Reported

These are the launch-window reports, phrased the way players filed them, so you can match your own evening against them. None of them have an official response attached as of September 8, 2026.

  • "Lobby Bug - Server full at 3/5 players" โ€” a forum bug report (zero replies); a review matches it: the lobby says five can join, the fifth player never gets in.
  • Repeated kicks: a Russian reviewer reports being kicked ten times out of ten attempts, including from American lobbies mid-game.
  • Disconnects every game: French reviewers advise waiting out the server situation, one reporting drops in every single session.
  • Cannot chain two games: after finishing a match, starting the next right away fails (reported by French players in launch week).
  • Mid-game pack additions kick players: subscribing to a new sound pack during a session dropped players from the game, and the table had to restart.
  • Lobby desync: one player could only see three of four participants, and one could not hear any of the reference sounds.

Regional Pain: Russia/CIS and Empty Regions

The connection problems are not evenly distributed. Russian-language reviews are the hardest-hit group in the review sample (two positive against ten negative), with players describing frequent kicks and CIS effectively unplayable, and several asking for self-hosted servers. At the other end, a Brazilian reviewer's complaint cuts in the opposite direction: with no lobby browser and random matchmaking that does not split by region, an empty region simply never finds a game. Neither has an official answer yet; the practical read is that region choice and a friends-first table matter more than your internet connection quality does.

๐Ÿ’ก Russian and CIS players specifically: the non-Europe region switch was reported from your community first โ€” coordinate the whole table onto one region before blaming your own connection.

What Actually Helps (Community-Sourced)

Until the developers publish real patch notes, this is the honest toolbox. It is short because the game exposes almost no relevant settings โ€” which is also why every item on the list is about shaping your session, not tuning the client.

  • Same region for everyone, outside peak-overloaded Europe, plus an open party โ€” the one workaround with multiple confirmations (see the join-code walkthrough).
  • Play with friends via room code rather than random matchmaking โ€” kick reports concentrate in public lobbies.
  • Settle your sound packs before opening the lobby; adding packs mid-session is a documented way to kick the whole table.
  • If a session dies, a full game restart โ€” not just a lobby rejoin โ€” is what players fall back to.
  • Still failing? Report it on the official Discord and watch your two-hour refund window.
